East Amphi/Fourax
Location, Access, Description
The East Amphi / Fourax Royalty consists of 36 mining claims covering an area of 1 612.99 Ha in Malartic area, MRC of La Vallée-de-l’or. The property is crossed by the Trans-Canada Highway (Québec Highway 117). The claims are currently held by Agnico-Eagle Mines and Globex retains a fixed 2% Net Smelter Royalty (NSR) on any future production on these specific 36 claims.
The region is associated with several active mines and numerous exploration companies. A full range of infrastructure, service companies, and experienced human resources are available in most nearby communities including Val d’Or, Malartic, and Rouyn-Noranda. Two regional airports, located in the cities of Rouyn-Noranda and Val d’Or, provide regular connection with the main centers of the province (Montreal and Québec City). The Property is also connected to a high voltage power line and is intersected from east to west by the Trans-Canada Railway.
The Property is located on the Larder Lake – Cadillac Deformation Zone (or the “Cadillac Break”) ; the Parbec gold deposit is located 400 meters north of the property, and the Canadian Malartic Complex is located 300 meters to the south. Recent NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of the Parbec Gold Deposit Project (Camus, 2025) estimated Open-Pit Measured + Indicated Mineral Resources of 9.61 Mt grading 0.86 g/t Au (265.8 koz Au), and Inferred Resources (Open-Pit + Underground) of 2.55 Mt grading 1.18 g/t Au (97 koz Au). The Canadian Malartic Complex has produced more than 8 Moz Au since 2010 and still hosts Proven & Probable Reserve of 1.4 Moz Au (Agnico-Eagle website, December 31st, 2025).
Geology and Mineralization
The East Amphi / Fourax property is located on the contact between the Abitibi and Pontiac subprovinces, separated by the Cadillac–Larder-Lake Deformation Zone (CLLDZ). The Abitibi Subprovince is an Archean greenstone belt which hosts some of the richest mineral deposits of the Superior Province whose total endowment, including Production, Reserves and Resources is estimated to be > 9,375 t Au (Dubé and Mercier-Langevin, 2020).
The property is favourably situated within the Malartic Val d’Or gold mining camp of northwestern Quebec. It is located in close proximity to former gold producers such as the East Malartic and Barnat mines.
The main mineralized zones occur throughout a series of stratigraphically continuous mafic lapilli tuff horizons lying south of the northern contact of the CLLDZ and within fractured, quartz veined and silicified areas of the dioritic and feldspar-porphyry intrusive bodies. Mineralization has also been noted in silicified, brecciated and bleached sections of the greywacke along the southern contact of the CLLDZ. Further indications of mineralization occurring along the sheared northern contact of the volcanic sequence may represent a major splay fault off of the main Cadillac Break.
The area is considered prospective for orogenic gold deposits, typical of Archean greenstone belts. These deposits are usually controlled by crustal-scale shear zones like the Cadillac Break and feature gold-bearing quartz-carbonate veins hosted in both ductile and brittle structural zones. Mineralization often occurs in proximity to felsic intrusions and may be influenced by the chemical or mechanical properties of the host rocks.
The Cadillac Break hosts the main deposits, but gold also occurs in the Piché Volcanics to the north and, more recently discovered, in Pontiac sediments to the south. The Canadian Malartic deposit, part of the same trend, also exhibits mineralization that extends well into the Pontiac Group, suggesting a model where intrusive rocks play a central role in controlling broad, low-grade gold halos suitable for open-pit mining.
The East Amphi / Fourax property is traversed by the Cadillac Fault on more than 4.6 km in NW-SE orientation. The property hosts several prospects among which the East Amphi former Mine which produced 118,213t @ 4.52 g/t Au in 1999 and still hosts Proven & Probable Reserve of 640,825t @ 4.88 g/t Au and Measured and Indicated Resource of 1.44 Mt @ 5.33 g/t Au (Riopel, 2006 – NI 43-101 Technical Report and MRE for the East Amphi project). Gold on the property is typically associated with pyrite and occurs in silicified or chloritic halos around orogenic quartz-carbonate veins, as well as in biotitized zones along the Cadillac Break. Mineralization is found within talc-chlorite schists, intrusives like fractured and quartz-veined diorites, and the competent parts of the Piché Volcanics. Coarse gold has been noted in some areas.
Historical resource of 0.24 Mt grading 2.74 g/t Au have been estimated in 1995 at the Fourax Zone (GM 54997).
History
The area has a long history of exploration activities dating back to the early 1900s. Gold was discovered in the Malartic area in 1923 by the Gouldie Brothers at what is now known as the Gouldie Zone. Numerous prospects and deposits have been uncovered and mined out along the prolific Larder Lake – Cadillac fault. More than 600 diamond-drilling holes (DDH) totaling more than 150,000 meters of core are listed in Quebec public data on the East Amphi / Fourax property.
In 2006, Richmont Mines prepared a NI 43-101 Technical Report and Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for the East Amphi project (Riopel, 2006), as follows :
Between 2007 and 2014, Osisko Mining followed by Canadian Malartic Corporation conducted extensive diamond drilling in the Malartic area, including numerous DDH on the East Amphi / Fourax royalty claims.
Recent work and developments :
Limited exploration work has been submitted to the Quebec public data on the East Amphi / Fourax property. Between 2018 and 2020, Canadian Malartic in partnership with Yamana Gold and Agnico-Eagle Mines conducted extensive diamond drilling of more than 200 DDH in the Malartic area ; some drilling holes have tested the southeastern part of the East Amphi / Fourax royalty claims (GM 72807).
In 2021, Canadian Malartic Mine carried out a high-resolution drone magnetic survey over the East Amphi project (GM 73567). This represents the most recent work listed in Quebec public data for the property.
Resources and Potential
The East Amphi / Fourax property is strategically located between two major gold deposits of the area : the Parbec and Canadian Malartic deposits.
Based on a large number of diamond drilling holes totaling thousands of meters of core, Reserves and Resources have been defined for both the East Amphi Mine (NI 43-101 compliant) and Fourax Zone (non NI 43-101 compliant). Further work is needed to advance the project toward definition and feasibility stages.
